So far the experience is good.
I was convinced by a roving representative in Sam's Club to switch to Just Energy. After I learned the true facts about what I would be charged, and just how Free Nights work, I immediately stayed with (switched back) to my previous provider. Effective rates with Just Energy will be .281 cents per kWh or higher. Not a competitive price, in my opinion.
I have been with this company for many years with no problems until recently. The teleprompter computer based bill pay system has not worked in months so I keep having to call in to try and make payments with a rep which never goes good. I tried to pay online and for some reason I could not view the payment information screen. Honestly I am over it. Why would you make it so hard and frustrating for your customers to pay you?

I will be taking my business elsewhere due to the absolute incompetence and the ignorance of every single customer service rep that I have dealt with since the beginning of my ordeal to obtain service with Just Energy started, almost one month ago. I was told that if I sent a picture of my drivers license, I would not have to pay hey deposit since I am 71 years old other companies don’t charge senior citizens for deposit, but they told me I would not have to pay deposit and then I do not have The money to pay for deposit so I did not get service with just Energy

I was told my energy charge would average 8 to 12 cents/kWh with the night credit. However, the paperwork sent to my email states 27.6/kWh and after the night credit the average is 19 to 18.3 cents/kWh. I need someone to contact me. :-(

WORST COMPANY EVER!!! Where do I begin..first what kind of Utility company doesn't take debit/credit card payments...I've had them for a couple of years now and have always paid my bill with a debit card, but this month I went to pay my bill like I always do and was told my account doesn't qualify for a debit/credit card payment. When I called customer service about this I was told the same thing but was not given a reason as to why they couldn't accept my debit/credit card payment and that I needed to use my bank account to pay my bill. Second they can never tell me how is it each month my bill is higher and higher with absolutely no changes to my everyday life. I am 1 person in a small 2 bedroom house that is hardly ever home. 3rd why is it I get different amounts that are due...my bill will say one amount the email that they send me will say another amount their website says a different amount and their app says a different amount..and when I call I can never get a straight answer out of anyone!!! THIS COMPANY IS DEFINITELY A SCAM AND THEY ARE MONEY HUNGRY!!! They need to be shut down!!!

I honestly regret having this company as my provider, customer service is not existent, the mobile app ALWAYS has a bug unable to make the payments in my busy schedule, when you call customer service the robot lady answers and it’s a very primitive cheap version of customer service very inefficient, if this company is not investigating in good quality of customer support imagine their services, be my guest, I hardly understand the Indian person when they answer, Taking my business somewhere else

Great deal save at night
I am not going to give a 1 star review just because I am unsure of their actual service. I am upset because I was approached at Kroger and was told I will just receive information via email about the service. When signing I noticed it said I am giving permission for them to start the service. I asked the sales rep and he said that it is only to have the information sent and you have 5 days to think about it. Now I am enrolled for their service, plus they make you sign on a Sunday so their office is closed. Due to this I do not trust this company and I will be calling tomorrow to cancel. I do not like being mislead. Read what you are signing and do not trust the sales reps

Horrible Horrible first impression for a new customer! Wanted same day service, paid the deposit sent all requested documents MULTIPLE times! Still no electricity! Horrible! If you want same day service STAY AWAY! They will take ur money and leave you in the dark! Literally!

Customer Service:
We scrape online reviews from Google, Yelp, BBB, and Trust Pilot to determine what customers are saying about the provider. The rating reflects the aggregate of all online reviews.
Renewable Options:
The rating system is based on the availability of renewable energy options. A 5-star rating is awarded to entities that offer a fully renewable option, signifying 100% renewable energy usage. A 4-star rating is given to those that provide a mix of energy sources, with more than 50% coming from renewable sources. Entities with renewable energy options exceeding the state average of 31.1% receive a 3-star rating, while those offering less than 31.1% renewable options are rated with 2 stars. Lastly, a 1-star rating is assigned to those with no renewable energy options, indicating a lack of commitment to sustainable energy practices.
PUC Rating:
The Public Utility Commission publishes a rating for each provider based on the number of formal complaints filed against the provider in comparison to how many customers they have.
For example, a provider with 10 formal complaints out of 10,000 customers would have a 1-star rating whereas a provider with 10 complaints and 1,000,000 customers would have a 5-star rating.
