Rhythm Energy is a somewhat new name in the deregulated electricity market. Formed in 2020, Rhythm has grown quickly. They are known for their plans centered around renewable energy like solar, wind, and EV charging.
Typically Rhythm is not the cheapest option, but they are very competitive. Some of their plans offer time-of-use incentives that are ideal if you have an EV or don't mind shaping your energy usage habits around certain times of the day.
One thing we appreciate is that Rhythm typically has a month-to-month option with a competitve rate. This is great for short term renters or for those who want to monitor the market until they see a long term deal they want to commit to.
If you are looking for a 100% renewable energy plan Rhythm is most certainly a name you should consider.

I have switched to this company recently and so far worst experience ever, its 3 days I am trying to pay my bill online and I cant, because of technical difficulties on their payment portal and its not fixed yet and my bill is past due. I have been with many energy companies and never had such a experience.

This is the second review i leave for this company. Don’t let these other good reviews fool you! I low key think the reviews were purchased! After being a customer of theirs for a year, of course i get the call that my bill will be going up! Apparently “i” enrolled into average billing … the manager Miss Allie calls to inform- No work ID/last name provided she advised she was the only manager making these calls to the customers being affected. She filled me in as to why bills going up (average billing was selected). I let her know personally i wouldn’t enroll into a plan like that i would pay upfront then to wait 12 months for my bill to automatically go up! She went on saying no you made the change. I asked if there as any call log/ anything that confirms because i wasn’t aware of average billing …. She stated no you might have selected it “by accident”, you have taken advantage of the price … so now your bill will be going up. The “accident part” got me, i let her know not once did i receive anything from this company informing of the change. I started asking questions and of course her not liking my questions , (where in my contact is this ? Can i dispute ?)Miss Allie got defensive, she started to cut me off and would just not let me speak! I have 16 years working in customer service, i know how this goes…. I’m going to be stuck paying this bill and if i decide to switch ill be stuck with the consumption bill i now owe. I’m appalled at the lack of empathy even sympathy i was given! Instead of trying to understand my concerns, listen to my questions this woman went straight to defense mode, going in circles explaining how I’m now responsible for XXX.XX AMOUNT. Rhythm energy, you need to do better on who you hire and who you let represent your company! This is the second call I’ve had with one of your representatives, this one being a “manager” were I disconnected the call with my BLOOD PRESSURE UP!!! It literally took me to raise my voice at her for her to stop and finally let me speak! If your company will be sneaky about billing, hire better agents that are willing To actually speak and take care of your customers! I let her know our call could’ve been handled different! But the moment she got loud accusing me” no you went in, no you had to have done”, with no proof of course me…. Your customer … is going to have questions!!

Extremely disappointing experience. When an agent was creating a new profile, he misspelled my last name despite my explicit warning that this might happen. Immediately after I received an email with my last name misspelled, I called back kindly asking to get it fixed. It was less than 5 minutes after I got off the call. To that they told me to send them over a copy of my ID. How so? To fix their own mistake, they ask customers to send via an unsecured email their confidential information. Being extremely frustrated, I closed the newly created account before I even switched over from my current provider. I do not recommend having business with a company that cannot fix own errors without causing additional overhead to their customer.

This is my first time purchasing electric on my own. When I originally went to Rhythm’s website , the plan I wad looking for was not visible. After continuous googling, I found it on another site that led me back to Rhythm’s website. However, once I found the plan that worked for me, the sign up process was so easy. I’ll come back after a few months and update my review!

Renewable Options:
The rating system is based on the availability of renewable energy options. A 5-star rating is awarded to entities that offer a fully renewable option, signifying 100% renewable energy usage. A 4-star rating is given to those that provide a mix of energy sources, with more than 50% coming from renewable sources. Entities with renewable energy options exceeding the state average of 31.1% receive a 3-star rating, while those offering less than 31.1% renewable options are rated with 2 stars. Lastly, a 1-star rating is assigned to those with no renewable energy options, indicating a lack of commitment to sustainable energy practices.
PUC Rating:
The Public Utility Commission publishes a rating for each provider based on the number of formal complaints filed against the provider in comparison to how many customers they have.
For example, a provider with 10 formal complaints out of 10,000 customers would have a 1-star rating whereas a provider with 10 complaints and 1,000,000 customers would have a 5-star rating.
