Be very careful dealing with PowerNext. I was double charged after my meter was upgraded. I contacted PowerNext and was promised a credit on my next bill to resolve this, but the credit never came. I called again and was told they would open a ticket to look into it and respond within 24 - 48 hours. It's been a week and no response so I called again and all they can do is open another ticket. It takes hours to get a hold of anyone in customer service, and it's very hard to communicate with them when you do speak with them. At this point I opened a complaint with the Public Utility Commission of Texas and hopefully that will get some action.
Been with PowerNext for over a year. Account has been set up on autopay the whole time. Received a disconnect notice this week for non payment. Went online and paid the account to keep from getting disconnected. Called PowerNext 2 times and emailed once before they would finally return my call. Come to find out it was there system that did not process the payment. They never bothered to contact me and tell me of their mistake. Later learned it affected numerous customers. They will be quick to disconnect you if they don't get paid,l; however, when the make the error it's ok.
Terrible customer service, long hold times when you call about inaccurate billing. AVOID unless they are the only option. Thankfully they are not for me, switching immediately!
Lame A..... Company. How you going to charge people an early Termination Fee? when they never canceled the service? Seems like the company is canceling your account and is charging you an early termination fee, stating you are the one who terminated the account. This company is a joke, look at the reviews of everyone, learn how to treat your customers fairly, y'all ain't the only company around, and that is why you will keep losing customers to other services companies because y'all try to cheat your customers who have been with you for years.
Went to transfer my service from them to another company. They processed my transfer as a moveout and my power was turned off before the transfer was completed. It's over 100 degrees here and I work from home. I was pretty much just told "sorry." I DO NOT RECOMMEND. If there was a lower than 1 star rating they would have received that from me.
Don’t even think about using power next. I canceled my service with them because I no longer live in an apartment. I had this fee of over 500 dollars being charged to me. I call them about it and I was told that if I sent proof of relocation, then the fee would be waived. I sent proof of relocation A WEEK before the due date for the fee. Not only did it not get waived, but I was charged at full price. I didn’t even pay for it on my own, it just automatically got taken out of my account even though I NEVER used autopay. I called them and demanded for a refund and basically all they said was “sorry there’s nothing we can do.” Oh and by the way, you have to wait like 2 hours for them to reach out to you whenever you call them. THIS COMPANY IS FULL OF LIARS AND THEY WILL SCREW YOU OVER. USE A DIFFERENT COMPANY.
Good rates but they are difficult to reach (I called 3 times, left messages, they call and put me on hold for > 45 minutes (said she was transferring me to supervisor but remained 'second caller in line > 45 minutes). Asked to know my social security or pay extra to confirm identity so they could tell me why I was getting additional bills when my contract was up. Poor communication, poor customer service, questionable business practices.
It’s takes more than 5 hrs to get customer service ,not really company
PowerNext has been no cheaper than TXU. I'm going to have to call Ogre Energy, to see if they can switch me back to Discount Energy.
New customer, just signed up today and was on hold for an hour and 40 minutes and then got DISCONNECTED. How can you be in business with this type of customer service. I paid for expedited and have not received any information on when to expect the power to get turned on. DO NOT recommend this company.
I wish I could give this 0 stars. Good luck getting anyone who can speak and comprehend fluent English on the phone since they are all based in India. Probably a major factor why they have lower rates.
Absolutely has the worst customer service in the industry! Canceling energy ogre just so they don't renew with Powernext!!!
Horrible customer service! They are literally a joke. I was on hold from 9:30 am-3pm... once someone picked up they dropped my call! STAY AWAY
Received a bill for over $500 for June. They said I used over 2800kwh (which I did not, we've actually been home less) and we were constantly having power surges and outages, NOT due to weather or rolling blackouts. When I called to have this checked they said it would take 1 to 2 billing cycles to correct if correcting was needed. So we ended up switching providers and low and behold when I woke up this morning I have an email for denied autopay, I NEVER set up autopay. This company is very sketchy and if I could I would give them 0 stars. Horrible company and horrible customer service.
Hold times are outrageous. Renegotiated rate, went though recorded confirmation, yet the change never took place. Hold time, hold time, hold time. It feels like the hold time is intentional to support their bad business practices while creating a hurdle for customers to advocate for themself. Oh and their early term fee is much higher than what you will find with other providers. I love the "want to avoid long hold times, check out our website....." when that is an impossible option when needing to talk to someone about negligent account management. And their website..... its horrible at best not even having bare minimum expected account info.
I gave it one star because there wasn’t an option for negative stars. I had their service about a month and disconnected service due to selling my home. I do not have electric service with another provider because I am staying with family for the next few months. I was assured by a representative that I would not be charged with the early termination fee because I was NOT transferring service to another provider. He was incorrect. I was charged the fee. After speaking to a different representative today and being told I have to pay the fee, I requested a manager and was put on hold. Twenty minutes later, still on hold.
My account randomly stopped showing usage or sending bills through my account even though I did not move out or switch providers. now my apartment is charging me a vacancy fee for not having electric service connected, even though I have a 2 year fixed contract. I have called multiple times and emailed and no one will answer or call me back. I would like to fix this issue so I do not have to switch providers and pay an early termination fee... yet I cannot get ahold of anyone to help AND my apartment will keep charging vacancy fees on top of monthly electric if this isn't resolved. Poor customer service and unreliable. I do not recommend.
Can't hardly understand the language and keeps going up.
Worst customer service EVER! We moved and had to cancel our service but the small town we moved to can only have one provider. Our final electric bill was $2 but will all the fees including a early contract termination fee was $594.70. My husband called because account is in his name and explained our situation and they said to email proof of moving and they will waive the $500 early termination fee. Documents were emailed but they took it upon themselves to take our money out of our account even though we have never been on autopay. We have been trying to call about it for over 2 weeks and we wait on hold for hours with never getting to speak to a person. This company is very shady and I will be filling a complaint with The Public Utility Commission of Texas.
I have had Powernext for over 2 years. Just renewed my contract I have never had one issue. I appreciate this company.
Bill went from $180 to $360 with them!
Absolutely zero support - put in a ticket 2 weeks before my final payment was due asking about the way it was billed because it was wrong. No one ever reached out. You cannot schedule payments online so your payment dates change every month but you cannot pick a date to schedule your payment. I would not authorize autopayment from this company based on 0 support.
They are impossible to get ahold of.. they do not reply to emails or phone calls. I’ve been trying to get ahold of someone that can actually help me for two weeks and no response back. I do not recommend them at ALL!!
Lies. Long contracts. Terrible customer service. Sit on hold for hours to be disconnected and they know you can't do anything bc it's a $800 cancelation fee.
WOW! This company took advantage of the "market conditions" being raised in the month of July and sneakily increased our rate by 300% without us knowing about it. That irritates me, but the 1 star review comes from the phone call I just had with one of the managers at Power Next when trying to obtain clarification. The rate for our local area in the Houston area is around 19. He advised that "...they are billing out people upwards of 22-23 because they are willing to pay it." WHAT!!! So because you trust your energy provider and pay your bills on time they feel they can increase your rates and charge you more until you say something?!?! So I will spare yall my story but do not go with these sneaky people that "seem" cheaper. This is also why I always speak on speakerphone and record all my conversations with voice recorder on my iPhone. Be careful yall and check your bills. If you are being billed over the 19 whatever then you are being used by this company. If you are using Energy Ogre and they have you enlisted in PowerNext, get on the phone too as they also target those customers because the customers are trusting that Energy Ogre is finding the best deals. C. Drew
Poor customer service, portal doesn't work properly. Will not use again once my contract is up.
Worst customer service. Run away from this company. Good luck trying to get online payment and account set up. Then, when you have an issue you won't get in touch with anyone for days or at all.
If I could give ZERO stars, I would! I noticed some incorrect charges and fees on my account (ACH chargeback and NSF fee and I don't have ACH setup with them, I pay with credit card every month) and called on 9/12 to get it resolved. I was told I should see them taken off in 1-2 days. 3 days later now and not only are they NOT removed but they've added another NSF fee! I do not have autopay setup with them or any form of payment saved and I always pay my bill each month, with a credit card (learned the hard way in the beginning of my contract not to have autopay setup with them.) I'm currently sitting on hold (going on 20 min now) to now get $262 worth of incorrect fees removed from my account. It's either sit on hold or "wait for someone to call you back within 10 business days." Seriously? WORST customer service EVER! If you have an account with this company make sure you are thoroughly reading each bill! Update: after sitting on hold for 39 min I got hung up on!
Horrible customer service. I had been month to month at the same rate for over a year, then they raised my rate by over double during the hottest month of the year. When I called and requested the rate be reduced, they escalated the call but no one ever reached out to me.
Useless. I called to have dual power at two different locations while moving, which they screwed up and we had to spend the night at a hotel, which I have not been reimbursed for. Now they have not sent a bill to my email for a month, and are ringing my phone off the hook. A bill would be helpful, either in the email or snail mail. Do not use or switch to this company. Update, spent two hours on the phone, giving my new service address, requesting my bill. Was, of course, sent a bill I already paid from my old address. It appears they turned back on the utilities at my old address.......have never in my life dealt with such inept people. Ever. Stick with who you have, this is a waking nightmare.
This is one of the worse electric carriers out there. Lots of hidden fees and enormous monthly bills. Customer service is not great and never knows general information...everything is a transfer or hold. You have been warned ⚠️
Trying to get customer service is a nightmare!!!! My power went out in the middle of the day and my online portal showed payment due immediately but an auto payment posted and that showed as well. I held for 30 minutes only to get a customer service rep that I couldn't hear due to background noise!!! She put me on hold and then I got a survey that asked if i was helped!!!! No one even helped me. It's obvious that the service team is sitting in a call center in another country and totally disconnected from Power Next or Texas!!!! Horrrrrrrrrrrible experience. I'm now waiting again and their wait message says they "are experiencing extremely high call and email volume due to a volatile Texas energy market". Wild!!!
Website doesn't work and wouldn't let me log on, pay, or extract PDFs. Rude customer service that would not explain the hidden fees.
Way to high, terrible customer service, I repeatedly have to change my login info everytime I try to view my bill online because their systems suck
Worst company ever. Money hungry and will take advantage of customers. I’ve never had a nightmare of a company like this one. Rude customer service, liars and bills out of this world. Bills for 950 dollars every month adding unexplainable fees. No one answers the phone when you call and if they ever do it’s after waiting hours. Someone needs to look into what’s going on. Thanks energy Ogre for sticking me with them. Channel 13 needs to take a closer look at this nightmare of a company. Shame on them!!!!!!!
Horrible customer service. Can’t wait to get out of this contract.
I been calling to get my deposit back still haven’t returned never gave electricity service…. Do not need to be open liars and money Hungary
This PowerNext is a joke. I was bamboozled by the cheap prices. I should've known by the name it wasn't a good deal. Worse decision made. It's a No thanks from me
Worst company ever. Don't ever come to this company. I can't wait until I am out of my contract because I will never again come back. They said my power wouldn't get cut off and it did after making over a 1000 dollar payment and their customer service is horrible. You wait forever just for someone and then they don't understand. I have never had a power bill that was over a thousand dollars. No wonder their hold music says there is a high call volume
Good to know I'm not the only one who thinks this company is complete trash. If Energy Ogre had not signed me up for a one year contract, I would DUMP THEM. Communication is non-existent. You're lucky if you get someone on the phone who has ANY CLUE as to how to help you. They're located in the same state as me, but outsource customer service overseas. Said customer service rep either lied to me or has absolutely no idea what they are doing.
The worst utility company I’ve ever had!!! Stay far away, they are scammers! My air was kept on 80 all summer and 77 at night and my bills are still $200/mo. I left town for 4 days and shut my air conditioner off and my bill was still $200!! You can’t get anyone on the phone for customer service. They are definitely scamming and taking advantage of people.
If I could leave 0 stars I would. My sister and my nieces have paid their electric bill and They have been without power all day and had to get a room for the night. Why did she have to be on the phone all night and still not get it resolved. Crooks
The only reason I am giving this review a single star is that there is no rating for negative stars. I have a contract with this provider for two months, pay may bill the day it is available, not waiting until it is due. They consistently make errors and not show my bill being paid and send me disconnect notices even though the bill is paid in full BEFORE the due date. I always have to contact them, send them copies of the check showing when it sent, delivered and cleared. DO NOT do business with this company!!!
Good luck every speaking with someone that you can understand. prerequisite for working here much be speaking the most broken English possible.
They say one thing and do another.
October 2022 - this company continued to bill the previous owner of our property from June 2022-October 2022 under their contract. The prior owners moved to Florida and they sent what should have been our bill to them which the prior owners forwarded to us and we paid. Our acct number and Contract was never initiated. We have switched over to CHAMPION ENERGY and so happy. The customer service is great and located in Houston! July 2022- I’m so frustrated. We just moved to Texas and our power has been turned off twice. I’m currently on hold. I’ve never received a bill so don’t have an account number to set up online account. If you have a billing question you need the account number. You can’t use the automated system with out the bill! I’d be happy to pay will a credit card but I can’t get through! This is so maddening! 8/13/22 - through a 70 minute call to customer care I finally got an account number associated with our name and address. I set up an online account but continues to show zero dollars owed or any usage. Why you ask can this be? Because the bills are still being generated under our sellers name and their prior account number. Powernext is sending the bills to their Florida address where they now reside. We bought this house in June and have yet to have a bill sent to us under our name/acct number to the address in question. Customer care is not adept at handling this situation. We have even spoken to supervisor to no avail. I’ve complained to Better Business bureau and the company does not care. The sellers have forwarded the June/July bills to us that we are paying so that we can be assured that our power is not turned off which happened twice in both June and July. I don’t know what to do at this point!
Website is not that great. Bills are high. Cancelled my service and switched providers. Much happier now. Don't bother with these guys, just look elsewhere.
If you like to be ripped off, pick PowerNext, otherwise, look elsewhere for your power needs.
Absolutely horrible. Overpriced they try to trap you with low introductory rates and then the customer service reps don’t even undertand English properly
My electric bills were 800-900 all summer. Stay away!!!!!!!!!!
This is the worst company ever. Energy bill $1200 in one month. Then right after it was paid another bill for $686. Why is Energy Ogre putting people in a contract with such horrible company?
Steer clear of this one folks. The rates are high compared to others, and their business practices are shameful. I have seen unexplained inaccuracies as well as just plain greed. It is nearly impossible to reach a live person for explanation or correction. Let my experience be your warning.
I have been with powerNext for 3 years now, no other company has been able to match their price.
This company started out OK but got worse. If you are looking for a company to send you pink notices to cut off your electricity even though you have a good credit card set up for auto pay, this is your company! Even though I had auto pay I had to check every month to make sure that the credit card processed and hoped when I had to process payment manually that they wouldn’t double dip on it. Brought this to their attention multiple times but never got a straight answer on the issue. My energy broker got me on a new plan with different company and it was worth every penny to break the contract. I only post negative reviews with companies where I’ve tried to fix the problem and since the problem didn’t get fixed felt it was important to let others know.
What does it take to change a password. I have tried four times and it acts like it’s okay but won’t take it at login what a waste of time Trying to pay a bill
This company only cares about their money. I have been under contract with better, specially better customer service. Cancelling energy ogre for putting me on with this company. Zero stars if I could. DO NOT accept using this company, they will over charge you, add charges to your bill and will not do anything to help you.
Far and away the worst, most incompetent company I have ever had the displeasure of working with. Took them 5 days to get my power back on when someone who DOESNT LIVE HERE called and shut my power off. DO NOT USE THEM!
Of course, one star because you can’t do 0 !! Stay away from this company, they are the worst company I have ever had. They charge you twice the same amount by mistake and charge you with fees knowing they are in the wrong. Fortunately, me and my daughter finished our contract this month!
Energy Ogre put me here. I am leaving asap. Pricing is crazy outrageous. Stay far, far away from this company unless you don't like your money. I cancelled Energy Ogre too - another ripoff.
This company has the worst customer service. Electricity cost is atrocious.
I've got trapped in a contract with them via energy ogre at 17.2 cents kw/h. Reached out to them multiple times to try and explain but they don't care even though they are offering lower prices on power to choose. And good luck trying to get in touch with an actual employee, all call service which you can barely understand due to the background noise of everyone else talking to other customers. Worst energy company I've ever had.
Worse customer service
The worst electric company!! In Houston, we have a heat index of 115 degrees and an incompetent employee did not submit my move in paperwork for our electric contract to begin on June 19th. A.) It was a holiday so they should not have stopped or started services on that day. B.) How are you going to schedule someone to move in WHEN YOUR OFFICE IS CLOSED! C.) My electric order was never sent to Centerpoint Energy so guess who didn't have power on the 19th?? All other electric companies could not get our power on right away so me and the kids were stuck with no power in the hottest time of summer. Thank you PowerNext at failing at your job.
It shouldn't take well over an hour to get the electricity turned back on when the money has been collected from my bank account.
Great prices & easy to work with!
Worst company .. zero customer service. Charged deposit over and over to start account! Tried to call several times just disconnects! STAY AWAY
I never leave reviews, but I would rate them 0 stars if I could… may be one of the worst customer services I’ve ever experienced. I use energy ogre and told them to not use this company again.
I signed up with this company over the phone, I received a confirmation number and that was it. 7 days later, I thought that was strange and called them again. They cancelled my enrollment without any notification. Thus putting me out of contract with my current supplier. DO NOT EVEN TRY WITH THIS COMPANY.
My electricity has been on auto pay for years and my card was stolen so last 2 payments did not process unbeknownst to me. They cut my power off with ZERO WARNING AFTER I JUST HAD A STROKE IN THE MIDDLE OF A HEAT WAVE. NO CALLS, EMAILS or anything over $200. Administrative code in Texas states you cannot cut power off the day preceding a weekend unless you can turn it back on immediately upon payment. I have paid. WHERE IS MY POWER?!
Terrible to say the least 9 hours of power loss for no reason in last 60 days.. brainless technician disconnected power for no reason. In one instance they disconnected my power instead of a neighbor...that too in peak of summer....they don't have technician for hours every time. Might be they won't the techs and they are punishing the customers. Irresponsible customer care. Imagine paying for this nonsense. Be careful
Unfortunately we chose to handle our new set up on our own because of the attitude of the person over the phone. I appreciate the home warranty offering this service, but I'd rather do it on my own than deal with attitude.
They want to charge me after my lease ended and then there is a $2000 termination fee
I received a disconnect email this morning, 9/7, from PowerNext, keep in mind I am autopay. I didn't remember seeing an email that my autopay was not paid. I went ahead and paid my huge bill of $370.14 manually. Later in the day, I get another email that they made an error with their autopay system and went ahead and took out payment. So now I am out $370.14. I have other bills to pay and no mention of if we you paid, they will refund promptly with a credit for overcharging. They didn't even check accounts to see if they were up to date before helping themselves to my fund. Very unprofessional company.
Horrible experience from day 1! They didn't send a ticket to Centerpoint to turn on my power. Stuck in a hot house with two kids in July. First payment was redirected to their payment lockbox, resulting in loss of payment. Recent bill had a TDU delivery charge for $365. Called customer service and they gave shady excuses. Ultimately blaming centerpoint. I have lived in TX for 22 years and never received a power bill that included a TDU delivery fee. Cheers to 10 more months of price gouging by PowerNext.
By far one of the worst companies I've been with and currently still stuck with. Customer service is a hit or miss. Rates are out there, missed getting to switch plans and have been stuck with an outrageous bills for so long. There's no recovering its like they lure you in with energy orge and then gouge you. Wish I had never signed with them. Listen to the warnings here they are true.
Bad business! Kilowatt went from .16 to .26 on our last bill charging $320 for ONLY 2 weeks of usage. This sounds like a way to scam people when they're leaving your company. Filed a complaint today and will update with there response.
The website have problems when pay the bill, and can’t call customer service and charge fee for late . I sign contract 14.4cents/kw. and right now is over 16cent/kw. this is worst company. Last months is the same KW but less money than this month. so terrible company!!!
First month with power next, and I can’t log into my account and can’t recover my account. Happened just before my due date. Time will tell if I get charged late fees due to this. Not off to a good start
Why can’t I login? I even clicked forgot password and never got an email back. Tried to set up again through the website and it says my acct number is invalid. I did get the email from energy ogre telling me that power next was doing an update. I have no idea what my October bill is as I haven’t received said bill yet.
Absolutely terrible service. Site doesn’t work, cant even register account. Won’t even recognize an account number to pay. Must call over the phone, good luck on anyone picking up. Convinced there’s only 2 people manning the entire phone system here. Avoid this company like the plague.
I am surprised they even have 2 stars. I have been charged but have not seen a bill, I tried to sign in and create password and never got a link to change password. Energy Ogre put me in this plan and I will have to pay a 150 fee to get our of this terrible plan.
Billing nightmare... total mess and of course you can't get anyone on the phone.
You would think they would be smart enough to put a message on their website to let customers know the website is down due to upgrades. Also, I've been with them for about 3 years and this is my first time experiencing billing errors. My checking account clearly shows they received payment a month ago, but yet they have sent me a bill asking for same payment. It is just odd that they don't recognize the need to send any mass email communication to let their customers know they are experiencing major issues that could impact them in some form. This is very troubling and now I have contact my attorney to get me out this contract.
All of a sudden can't make online payments, there was no notification about that! It won't let you log in, and it will not send email when saying forgot password. This is unacceptable because I'm sure now they will charge a late fee, when it's their site not working. Pretty frustrating because you can't call and pay on the weekend either and we never get a response to an emails!
We’ve been with them through Energy Ogre for a couple of years. They just changed their account interface, and it has some pretty major issues via mobile. That said, logging in on desktop was a breeze and I was able to update all of my necessary info with ease and super quickly! They could use a notification that an auto payment form has not gone through as this didn’t happen for us when my card on file expired and became at risk for a late fee, other wise we appreciate them. 👍
Incompetent doesn’t fully describe to how awful this company operates.
Worst website of any electrical provider in Texas. Went to pay bill and tried to sign in existing password would not work, requested to reset password and the site will not send an email to reset password.
I rarely write reviews but please stay away from this company. They are hard to reach for support, they don't provide critical updates, they remove you from auto pay, when there's a website update and expect you to pick up the pieces of their errors, lastly overpriced fees/contracts.
I have not been able to log in.. I get an mail today saying they have completed there system update and we should be able to log in now. I go to log in and nothing.. there is no account info at all. Then they have the audacity to say they are going to start disconnecting service for non payment... Really??? I can't even log in to pay my bill plus you stopped my automatic payment and now you're threatening to disconnect service?? Wow!
Terrible to work with. Don't give them any of your money. I put down a deposit in August, then cancelled within the allotted period when I decided to go with another provider. Their customer service team has told me 3 times in the past 4 months that a refund is being processed, and I still have not received it. I will never work with them again.
Marcos Garcia #caso 00114817
This company stopped their ACH payments without notice to their customers. The reason they had to stop ACH payments was cause of their system. So now they expect us the customer to pay 2 months worth of bill in the month of December knowing that families are struggling to make it as it is. When calling to ask why this happened they had no clear answer. All I got is that they sent a email saying payment was declined which I never got. So this is not a company you would want to to have service though at all!!!!
They’ll turn your service on and you’ll get power. You’re mostly being served by ERCOT/CP/TNMP at this point. God forbid you ever have to deal with their customer service for anything. If it isn’t on the script then they don’t know. You’ll get somebody in the US to talk to if you request a supervisor. Even then the supervisors would have to contact somebody else for some questions. Not a great company but if you need them to turn something on and then off with nothing in between I suppose they would work in a pinch.
Terrible customer service . Barely speaks english, login account doesnt work at all and they could not fix it. Do not go with them.
Our mission is to provide accurate and helpful data and content to help you make an informed decision when comparing energy providers.
Plans and Rates:
We review all available plans from every licensed energy provider. Then we rank the lowest available rate from each provider. Providers then receive a rating based on what percentile their lowest plan ranks.
For example, Provider A has the 3rd lowest-priced plan, while Provider B has the 45th lowest-priced plan out of 46 providers who submitted plans to PUC. Provider A will have a rating of 5, while Provider B will have a rating of 1.
Customer Service:
We scrape online reviews from Google, Yelp, BBB, and Trust Pilot to determine what customers are saying about the provider. The rating reflects the aggregate of all online reviews.
Renewable Options:
The rating system is based on the availability of renewable energy options. A 5-star rating is awarded to entities that offer a fully renewable option, signifying 100% renewable energy usage. A 4-star rating is given to those that provide a mix of energy sources, with more than 50% coming from renewable sources. Entities with renewable energy options exceeding the state average of 31.1% receive a 3-star rating, while those offering less than 31.1% renewable options are rated with 2 stars. Lastly, a 1-star rating is assigned to those with no renewable energy options, indicating a lack of commitment to sustainable energy practices.
PUC Rating:
The Public Utility Commission publishes a rating for each provider based on the number of formal complaints filed against the provider in comparison to how many customers they have.
For example, a provider with 10 formal complaints out of 10,000 customers would have a 1-star rating whereas a provider with 10 complaints and 1,000,000 customers would have a 5-star rating.
The GridHacker rating uses a weighted average that prioritizes rates and customer service over renewable options and PUC rating. We do this because we feel that for most customers price and service are the two most important factors when they are shopping for an electricity plan.
