When signing up you get a choice of credit check or $200 deposit which you will not get back until the end of the contract. I selected credit check and then when I signed up they charged my credit card $200. Be aware of this if you use them. They will run a credit check on you and charge you $200. This is deceptive marketing and I will be writing to the Texas AG, The Governor, ERCOT, the PUC and anyone else I can think of.
Going into the 3rd month with them and it's been great. Price and the fact that is so straight forward makes it a fit for me.

New with Branch. Hadn’t seen a bill. They contacted me and left a message. I was 3 weeks late on my bill. I called back and left a message. I was called this morning by a nice lady who was able to process my payment quickly. I have a smaller house but 128 was a lot better than my old bill!

great energy company, with the right offering for me. they really care about their customers, ask for feedback and implement what we really need to save money while helping the planet. I even had access to a free energy audit to help me to save even more.
UPDATE: I was able to get through via phone, finally. The. staff then provided excellent follow up service via email. Have to say the follow up commincation has been the BEST of any company I have dealt with in a long time. I would recommend this electricity provider based on these interactions. ORIGNIAL POST: Have lots of free time if you need to contact this company. Am NOT receiving email to set up account online despite multiple attempts. Now on phone in INFINITE hold waiting for a human. HMMM.
Jason is always very responsive. He has provided excellent customer service ever since I became a customer. He is also very knowledgeable and competent to provide solutions to customer 's situation. During my most recent move, the CEO made an exception to accommodate me. I highly recommend Branch Energy.
Branch should be teaching other companies how to do customer service. I had an issue signing up through their website last Friday and so I called the customer service line when the office was closed (didn't leave a voicemail because it's not 2004) and then forgot about it. On Monday...THEY CALLED ME BACK. I was like, 'who is this'? And Jennifer said: "This is Branch Energy - we had a missed call from you on Friday, and just wanted to see what you needed?".... *cue silence while my mouth falls open in shock*. Anyway, long story short, she was then able to fix the problem and I'm all set. Amazing, amazing service. Keep it up, Branch!

So far we are very disappointed with Energy Ogre. Before we switched to them, the highest electric bill we had ever received was about $350. The last two bills after we switched have been over $450. I guess we need to go back to the provider we were using before we switched.

Customer service is really good. They listen to any issue you have and try everything possible to get it resolved. The only issue I had was not receiving the bill several days in advance (at least 4 to 8 days )before the automatic withdrawal. The Chief Technology Officer contacted me that they are working on that asap.

Our family recently moved from LA to Dallas and had an amazing experience with Branch. They were the only 5 star, fixed rate option on power to choose that uses renewable energy. Even better, when I called to ask a question I got a live person almost immediately!
Updating my original 1 star review. While initially I had a very bad experience with this company and disliked not having an online portal, they worked to resolve my issue and haven't had any complaints since. They now have a good online portal to use and don't see a reason to switch unless their rate becomes not competitive.

I switched to this company thoughts my bill will be a little bit lower than my other company but it seems like it's even higher than the other company my bill is $230 something dollars I leave home from 4:30 in the morning don't get back till 8:00 that night so I don't know how a light bill will be this high

Great experience, hands down probably the lowest in the Houston area and the best thing it comes from free clean energy! 9 or at least that's what this company claims. They also plan a tree for every bill cycle you pay on a monthly basis. I'm giving 4/5 stars due to the next reasons: - I think been a recent new small energy business, makes their service a little bit informal not very professional. I had to ask for my bills on the first months, but overall they were most of the time very friendly. They do not have 24/7 support that I am aware and non existent mobile app and the website I believe is barely new as I remember googling them before making a contract with them as I was scared it might be a ghost company/scam. I decided to not renew with them as they couldn't maintain the same quote ( I know they were still offering me the best price in the market) , I went with a bigger company which has a very friendly mobile app and also to make a long term contract where they can assure me they can maintain the same quote.

This was a really great company to do business with. And their rate was great as well. They were really proactive about how to have a utility relationship with the customer, with efficiency reviews, heat pump information, Etc. Unfortunately, this time around they were not competitive. I hope at some point in future their rate will win the comparison competition and I can use them again.
I got an energy consult from this company. The experience was easy, quick, and left me with a lot of ideas on how I could decrease my energy usage. The generated report has a lot of useful resources and I'll be referring back to it often.
They get you in with a great rate and then double it on you after contract ends. Not even remotely reasonable to stay month to month. My bill for the 14 days before I cancelled was $108 while I was out of town! Of course they deny me being a customer and deny doubling the rate after my contract ended. Other than that, it’s a good company and has good customer service.
this was the first electricity company I have used, and I have nothing but great things to say about this company. The staff is so helpful with any questions that you need in the online billing makes everything easier. Definitely will be using their services for my next home.

Never had any issues & customer service was great…UNTIL I moved and cancelled service. I was assured my service would be cancelled on my move-out date. Thankfully I was cautious enough to request a confirmation email, because my service is still active 3 days after I moved out. They’re saying they will credit me for the additional days since I have the evidence of my original cancellation request, but it’s quite frustrating continuing to deal with this company when I should’ve received my final bill by now. Had to downgrade my rating because of this.

Renewable Options:

A 4-star rating is given to those that provide a mix of energy sources, with more than 50% coming from renewable sources. Entities with renewable energy options exceeding the state average of 31.1% receive a 3-star rating, while those offering less than 31.1% renewable options are rated with 2 stars. Lastly, a 1-star rating is assigned to those with no renewable energy options, indicating a lack of commitment to sustainable energy practices.
PUC Rating:
The Public Utility Commission publishes a rating for each provider based on the number of formal complaints filed against the provider in comparison to how many customers they have.
For example, a provider with 10 formal complaints out of 10,000 customers would have a 1-star rating whereas a provider with 10 complaints and 1,000,000 customers would have a 5-star rating.
